Porto’s new wave is stronger than ever.
Porto has always been a breeding ground for musical talent. Names like Mind da Gap, Bezegol, Barrako 27, Deau, and Dealema put Porto on the map and marked generations, but it’s been a long time since the Porto scene felt an energy quite like this.
Joint One, Yung Juse and Tiago Mob are exactly what we’ve been waiting for - a new generation with a fresh, modern sound, yet deeply rooted in the territory that shaped them. With pride, they make sure to carry the name of Porto in every track, in every verse - and that’s more than beautiful, it’s authentic, it’s real.
First we need to talk about Joint One and Yung Juse. The impact they’ve had is undeniable. It’s been hit after hit, and the biggest highlight (so far) was the release of their album PortoBoyzMafia, a true milestone for the city’s underground music scene. This project not only cemented the names of Joint One and Yung Juse, but also reaffirmed Porto as a key force in the country’s creative landscape.
Alongside this new wave, Tiago Mob has also been steadily helping put Porto on the map. He first caught attention with his track Meu Brother, and since then has continued to grow, establishing himself as one of the promising voices of this new generation. The three artists have already collaborated on tracks together, constantly supporting each other and pushing for the decentralization of the scene - proving that this movement is not just about individual success, but about collective strength.
The older generations of the city should - and must - be proud. Proud of the legacy they built, and proud to see the new wave following in their footsteps with respect, talent, and ambition.
Joint One, Yung Juse, Tiago Mob, and this entire new generation are living proof that Porto continues to produce artists with identity, drive, and vision who do not forget their roots.
