When Confeere took over Lacoste.

In 2022, portuguese visual artist Confeere collaborated with Lacoste as part of the #DrawItYourself project, an initiative centred around the customisation of the french brand’s iconic polo shirts. The initiative brought together four artists, each invited to customise a different iconic Lacoste polo using materials sourced from the brand’s factory in Troyes, France.

True to his practice of working with discarded materials, Confeere used old towels to customise the polo, creating an all-over pattern of crocodiles. But the collaboration went beyond the garment itself.

As part of the collaboration, the artist also created one of his signature large-scale figures, which was temporarily displayed at Lacoste’s Champs-Élysées store in Paris. The XXL figure was dressed in a replica of the polo he had customised, bringing Confeere’s distinctive artistic language into the space of the brand.
