Most people may not know it yet, but Maison Emilia is officially back with a new drop. Following its last release in 2024, the Aveiro-based brand is preparing to unveil a new collection that further reinforces its distinctive identity.

Known for its experimental approach to handmade craftsmanship and upcycling, Maison Emilia continues to create garments that tell a story. This time, inspiration comes from the photographic archive of founder Diogo Saraiva's grandfather, resulting in a collection that serves as both a tribute to his memory and a celebration of his legacy.

Titled Venha o Diabo e Escolha - a well-known portuguese saying - the collection brings together a range of garments produced entirely in Portugal. The drop combines upcycled pieces with newly developed designs, all handcrafted with the brand's signature attention to detail.

A varsity-inspired visual language plays a central role throughout the collection, expressed through the use of numbers, typography and collegiate-inspired graphics. According to Diogo Saraiva, this aesthetic was chosen to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and folk wisdom. While the varsity references evoke formal education and academic institutions, the collection's title draws from portuguese oral tradition, creating a dialogue between two different forms of knowledge. The devil also emerges as one of the collection's central motifs. For the founder, it represents an ambiguous figure that embodies the duality inherent in the expression itself, reinforcing the narrative behind the project.

Attention to detail remains one of Maison Emilia's defining strengths. From washes and distressed finishes to material selection and construction techniques every garment reflects a meticulous process that prioritises authenticity, craftsmanship and longevity.

The collection is set to release soon, although an official launch date has yet to be announced.
